School sign-up process:

South Africa’s government schools are the custodians of education in our country. The decision to join Classroom Collective lies with the school. Our programme is completely FREE to government schools. We want to empower schools with tools, resources and community-led volunteers to improve your schools' literacy outcomes. We know, and have seen first hand how hard our schools work despite immense obstacles. We see schools are partners and leaders - Let’s work together to ease the burden and build a literate South Africa.

How to sign up:

1) Head over to the sign-up portal

2) Fill in your school profile ( this takes about 15 minutes)

3) Your school will go live on The Classroom Collective Portal, and Reading Champions (Volunteers) can start signing up.

Commitment from the school

1) A school needs to commit to a 4-term period

2) A staff member needs to be appointed as the Classroom Collective Coordinator and point of contact (usually a school secretary)

3) School teachers select learners to join the programme

4) The programme runs on school property during school hours (not during break)

5) Schools will share learner marks (kept confidential) in order to show programme impact.

Why join? What is the Value-add to your school:

1) Free reading support for learners who are falling behind with a 1:2 volunteer: learner ratio

2) Free Resources.

3) Community support centred around supporting your school
